THE SEASONS

When is the best time of year to get married here in Queenstown, you ask? Honestly – anytime!

Springtime (September-November) combines the best of both worlds – warmer temperatures, longer days and fresh, bright colours begin to transform the landscape; but there is also often still plenty of snow on the mountains for great spring skiing and riding at any of the region’s six diverse ski fields.

In summer (November-March), warm weather and long evenings are perfect for alfresco dining, lakeside barbecues and getting outdoors to enjoy the lakes and trails. If you are after warmer weather temperatures, then January/February may be the months for you!

Visit in autumn (April-May) and enjoy the spectacular change of seasons as the landscape bursts into a blaze of red and gold. These colours can make the perfect backdrop for incredible wedding photos.

From June to September, the region transforms into a winter wonderland, attracting snow enthusiasts from around the world with stunning scenery, crisp blue-sky days, easy access to some of New Zealand’s finest skiing, and lots of great winter events.
